-Description

The company produces watches without any compromise by utilizing its overwhelming quality and technical capabilities.

The independence of the family management and the reliability that all watches can be repaired create the value as an asset that is handed down from generation to generation.

This watch is Golden Ellipse Ref. 3848.

The ellipse is a fusion of a circle and a rectangle, and the case's aspect ratio (1:1.6181) is the "Golden Ratio," which was discovered by Greek mathematicians and is the basis of its name.

The Golden Ratio, also known as the "Sacred Ratio," can be found in some of the greatest works of architecture and painting to this day.

First introduced in 1968, the Golden Ellipse made a big impact with its design, which was a departure from the round and rectangular cases that had been used until then.

The case material is 18k yellow gold.
It is 27mm width and 32 mm height, but its oval shape makes it look smaller than it is.

The dial is a blue dial with sunray finish.
This is the standard combination that one would imagine when thinking of the Golden Ellipse.

The hands are pencil hands and the indexes are bar hands.

Both the dial and hands are in excellent condition with no paint peeling or corrosion.

In addition, the σ (sigma) mark is on both sides of SWISS at 6 o'clock on the dial.

This is a mark found on watches made by manufacturers belonging to the APRIOR from around 1973 to around 2000, and indicates the use of precious metals such as gold for the dial and indexes.

The purpose of this designation was to "indicate that the watch is of high quality and Swiss made of gold.

It is a specification found on watches made by five companies (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, and Omega), but not all watches have it.

For this reason, it is regarded as a rarity among collectors.

There are two types of Golden Ellipse, a leather belt specification and a bracelet integrated type, and this watch is an integrated type.

There are also several variations of bracelets.

This is a type of chain link bracelet.
The design of the chain is so rare that even if I searched the sales history, I couldn't find the same one.

Like the bracelet, the engraved buckle is also a very rare specification.

The length of the bracelet is currently about 17cm.

The movement is manual wind Cal.215.

It was introduced around 1978 as a successor to the Cal.23-300, a small movement with a size of 10 inches (approximately 22.5mm).

Although it is a very classical thin manual wind movement, it is a machine with modern performance, and it is still used in current models such as Ref.5196 even after more than 40 years.
