-Description

Patek Philippe is a watchmaker founded in Geneva in 1839. The company makes watches without any compromise by utilizing its unparalleled quality and technical expertise.

Along with Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, it is known as the Big Three, one of the world's three major brands, and it is no exaggeration to say that it has established a special position among them.

In addition to continuing to be one of the world's finest manufactures, the extremely small number of watches produced makes this brand synonymous with luxury watches. The independence of being a family-run business and the reliability of knowing that all watches can be repaired create value as an asset that can be passed down through generations.

This watch is the Calatrava Ref. 5022. It was sold from 1997 to around 2005. Later models are called "Officers" due to their combination of Breguet numerals and Breguet hands.

This example is a model exclusive to the early 5022 production run, featuring guilloché engraving across the entire dial.

The case diameter is 33.5mm, which is smaller than the reference 5196, which is also in the 5000 series.

The case is made of platinum. This reference was available in yellow gold, white gold, pink gold, and platinum. Platinum is extremely rare due to its very limited production volume.

The hallmark on the case back is still clearly visible, and the case is in very good condition.

The dial is black with guilloche engraving. The guilloche engraving overlaps in a curved pattern like ripples, creating a stunning beauty.

The 5022 dial comes in a variation called piano black, which has a white outer edge, but the all-black dial of this model has a unified beauty.

The movement used is the hand-wound Cal. 215. It's a small movement measuring 10 lignes (approximately 22.5mm) that first appeared around 1978 as the successor to the Cal. 23-300. It's a very classic, thin hand-wound movement, but it also boasts modern performance, and even now, more than 40 years later, it's still used in current models such as the Ref.5196.

The watch comes with a certificate of origin. The code on the paper indicates that the item was shipped in 1997 from factory. A sales stamp in 2001 has been stamped on it.

It also comes with an original platinum buckle made from the same material as the case.
