-Description

Baume&Mercier is a long-established Swiss watch house founded in 1830. The company gained a reputation for jewellery watches in its early years, but in the late 19th century it gained recognition for its chronograph and grand complication models.

The logo "Phi", which stands for balance in Greek letters, is symbolic. Since 1988, the company has been part of the Richemont Group and continues to produce watches that are updated for the modern age, while continuing its long-established tradition.

This watch Ref.37077 is a hand-wound vintage dress watch produced in the 1970s.

The case material is 18K white gold. A rectangle case reminiscent of a Cartier tank. The crown is set with a cabochon-cut blue sapphire.

The case size is 23.4mm in width and 31.4mm in height, which is close to the mens size of a vintage tank. I feel that the structure with round lugs is also very similar to them.

The dial is a white Roman dial. It is an Art Deco design dial with large Roman indexes. It is in generally good condition, although it shows slight signs of age.

The installed movement is a hand-wound caliber BM775. This moevent is based on ETA's Cal.2512 and has a gold finish.

Cal.2512 was used in Cartier's 18K gold watches, and its successor, Cal.2512-1, is called Cal.78-1 and is used in must de Cartier Tank
